My process begins by integrating a variety of different types of colorant into clear resin. These colors include inks, dies and metallic based paints, as each layer is applied, I introduce a chemical. These chemicals create an oil to
water like reaction that allows the metallic paint and a portion of the color to separate into thin detailed cells which clear out some of the color, creating a magnified image of early stages and the illusion of texture and depth. The layering process as well as the contrast between metallic and resin allows my work to change based on the amount of light that it’s exposed to.
