Mick and Nurit Asher Vagner are both a couple in life and in art, and create a bridge between artistic collaboration and the love of their family of talented kids.
Nurit graduated from the ecalI Academy of Art & Design in Jerusalem in the Class of 1991, and earned a 8. F.A in Jewelry. Mick studied Architecture in the Haifa ID.rli.QQ, Israeli Institute of Technology, and has a background in graphic design, printing, and photography.
When they first met, Mick had a clothing booth business that had large original prints of t-Shirts, while Nurit had her own jewelry booth business. The connection was instantaneous.
They tested the waters in their artistic collaborations in both fields, and didn’t take long until the couple formed Nurit & Mick Arts, Inc.; the new collections were jointly curated in jewelry as well as in prints.
As designers and creators, they decided to focus on lines of jewelry only, leaving the photography and graphic designs as a means of promoting a more profitable form of artwork.
Shortly after relocating from Israel, In the Spring of 2007 the couple registered
Nurit & Mick Arts, Inc.
as a two-person artistic business company in the state of Oregon.
They’ve continued to participate in approximately 25-30 juried art shows per year since the move. Living in the Pacific Northwest had a profound impact on their current body of work: Biomorphic Sculptural Jewelry.
“Less is more” is the motto and building block of Mick and Nurit’s artistic vision.
They hand fabricate and construct precious metals in 3D organically fluid shapes that incorporate geometrical forms; their work is created with the love for precious metals, carefully fabricated for those who will wear it. Materials used: Silver, 14 and 24 karat Gold, and Freshwater Pearls using traditional jewelry fabrication techniques to create unforgettably exceptional, timeless jewelry.
