Very unique large scale Alcohol Ink abstracts on yupo paper then mounted to cradle board and covered with a high grade UV resin. Metallic and bold color dyes are manipulated with various brushes, air compressor and palette knife. This body of work represents the juxtaposition of earth tones to bold bright heavily saturated color as a reflection of nature.
As a trained fine artist, Julie has a passion for exploration, an insatiable curiosity to learn and a desire to push boundaries. She draws from an intersection of natural beauty and bold expression. Her bodies of work range from watercolor to acrylics to alcohol inks and collage. Her contemporary art explores natural themes in landscape and seascape. The overriding theme is the love of flow, motion and color.
Julie has been selling and showing her works for over 10 years and currently teaches at her own studios in Ann Arbor and Brighton, Michigan. An active member of the Brighton Artist Guild, ISEA, and the Washtenaw Women’s Art Council.
